Recovery phrase
Each Bearicorn user receives a 12-word recovery phrase during account setup. The phrase is required to sign in and recover access on another device.
Save the phrase before continuing
Bearicorn cannot reconstruct a lost recovery phrase. Store it offline in a place only the user can access. Do not place it in chat, email, screenshots, issue reports, or server configuration.
Use the phrase safely
- Enter it only in a trusted Bearicorn client connected to the correct hub.
- Keep an offline copy in a secure location.
- Do not store it in the Bearicorn chat it protects.
- Do not send it to an administrator, developer, or support request.
- Treat anyone who obtains it as able to impersonate the user.
Multiple devices
Each installation is authorized separately. Signing in on another device does not require copying browser cookies or application files from an existing device.
If the phrase is lost
Bearicorn cannot display, email, or recreate a lost recovery phrase. An administrator cannot recover it for the user.
If the last usable copy is lost, access to that identity may be permanently lost. Define a recovery and offboarding policy before depending on the hub for critical data.
If a device is lost
Unlink a lost or stolen device as soon as possible. This prevents that device from continuing to access the hub, but it cannot erase screenshots, exports, or information that was already copied from it.
Local protection
Use full-disk encryption, a strong device lock, separate operating-system accounts, and a trusted browser profile. Do not remain signed in on shared or unmanaged devices.
