About Bearicorn

2025

We improved the product and onboarded our first users. Over the course of the year, we focused almost entirely on R&D, technological development, and innovation. While it may not seem obvious, this involved hundreds of small features that needed to work seamlessly together. We invested the entire year into security, engineering, and backend development to build on our own foundations, while also leveraging established best practices in security. Today, Bearicorn uses military-grade security and represents a top-tier solution for SMBs. We also translated our experience from the financial sector into a new concept.

2024

We worked together from a coworking space at The Spot in Bratislava. Our team consisted of approximately four to five people, while the rest worked remotely. We had a corner office with a view overlooking a newly developing district. During this time, Bearicorn pivoted into what it is today, and we built a dedicated team focused on the project. The initial phase was fully funded by the Ondrek & Co. family company. The MVP we developed was ultimately tested primarily within our own organization.

2023

Bearicorn was founded by Samuel Ondrek and Robert Muller back in November 2022. Our very first idea was quite different from what Bearicorn is today. We started working together on a scheduler and reminder app. That project didn’t work out, but we quickly realized how much we enjoyed collaborating. Fast forward two years, and we were working with Swiss and Austrian clients. Samuel had already gained valuable experience on a small innovation hub, which began as a prototype for Erste Bank's internet banking platform, George. Over time, this grew into one of the most complex and widely used internet banking systems in Europe, serving seven countries and nearly 80 million customers. Robert, on the other hand, studied high-tech startups in Barcelona. After returning to Bratislava, he met Samuel at The Spot, a local startup community — and the rest is history.
